Permanent makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic tattoo technique that uses very fine needles to add lasting color and definition to the brows, eyes, or lips. The PMU options we offer here at TéTé are: Nano Brows, Powder Brows, Combo Brows, Lash Line Enhancement and Lip Blushing.
-
The main differences are depth, tools, and pigment. Permanent makeup is applied more superficially with fine needles and facial-safe pigments that soften over time. Body tattoos are placed deeper with stronger inks made to stay vivid permanently.
-
Permanent makeup can be a good option for the vision challenged who have difficulty applying their cosmetics and others with dexterity related conditions such as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors, and busy people who don’t have time to spend applying and refreshing makeup throughout the day and evening. Interest in this service spans the young to the more mature; those who desire a soft, natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially valuable to people who can’t wear traditional makeup due to allergies and skin sensitivities; active people who want to look their best for sports activities, and those who don’t want to worry about “sweating off” or reapplying makeup.

Please look at the Pre/Post Care Section in the website menu where you will find the contraindications.

Permanent makeup procedures often require periodic touch-ups to keep the results fresh and balanced. Here’s a general guideline:
1. Initial Touch-Up: Typically recommended 6-10 weeks after the initial session, this touch-up refines any areas that may have faded or healed unevenly.
2. Maintenance Touch-Ups: Following the initial touch-up, maintenance is generally needed every 1-3 years or once the pigment fades by at least 50%. The timing can vary based on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and pigment retention.

We offer three specialized brow services:
Nano Brows: Hair-like strokes created with a machine for a natural look.
Powder Brows: A soft, shaded finish resembling filled-in makeup.
Combo Brows: A blend of Nano and Powder techniques for added depth and definition.
-
Nano Brows are a form of cosmetic tattoo that mimics the look of hairstrokes to create hyper-realistic eyebrows.
-
No. Both are permanent makeup techniques, but Microblading uses a small row of needles that look like a blade, cutting the skin to implement the pigment. Nano Brows create realistic hair-strokes using a machine, depositing more pigment without cutting into the skin. This method is suitable for every skin type.
-
Powder Brows are a permanent makeup technique designed to create a soft, powdery look. Unlike Nano Brows, which mimics hair strokes, Powder Brows use a shading method to give the effect of filled-in brows, ideal for clients looking for a natural yet defined look.
-
Combo Brows combine the hair-like strokes of Nano Brows with the shading of Powder Brows. This technique offers a natural yet fuller brow appearance, perfect for those seeking both definition and softness.
-
Results typically last between 1 to 3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired look.
-
Most clients experience minimal discomfort. A topical anesthetic is applied during the procedure to ensure comfort throughout the session.
-
Initial healing takes about 7-14 days. During this time, it’s normal for the brows to appear darker and experience slight scabbing. Full healing, including color settling, occurs over 4-6 weeks.
-
The initial healing period is usually 7–14 days. You may notice redness, swelling, tightness, or light scabbing during this time. It’s important to avoid sweating, sun exposure, and getting the area wet outside of the guided cleansing routine. Regular daily activities are fine as long as you follow the aftercare instructions closely.
-
Absolutely! During the consultation, we’ll discuss your desired brow shape and color to ensure results that complement your facial features and personal style.
-
Most individuals are suitable candidates. However, certain conditions like pregnancy, breastfeeding, or specific medical issues may require postponement or a doctor’s approval. Please refer to our Pre/Post Care Section for detailed contraindications.
-
Proper preparation is crucial for optimal results. Please review the detailed pre-care instructions on our Pre/Post Care Section.
-
Aftercare is essential for optimal healing and pigment retention. You’ll receive a complimentary aftercare kit, including a cleanser, healing balm, and shower shields. For detailed aftercare instructions, please refer to our Pre/Post Care Section.
-
Touch-ups are for existing clients only. Your first touch-up (the follow-up appointment) should be booked 6–10 weeks after your initial session. When the brows have faded enough over time—usually between 1–3 years—you can schedule a maintenance appointment instead of paying for a full new set. Booking ahead is recommended to ensure availability.
-
Choosing the right brow service depends on the look you want, how much makeup you normally wear, and the amount of brow hair you currently have.
Nano Brows: Best if you want a realistic, hair-stroke look. Great for clients who prefer something soft and natural without a filled-in effect.
Powder Brows: Ideal if you like fuller coverage through the entire brow or regularly fill them in for a more consistent shape.
Combo Brows: A mix of both — strokes in the fronts with shading through the rest of the brow. Perfect if you like definition but don’t want the fronts to look heavy.
If you’re unsure, you can also take our Brow Quiz, which gives you a recommendation based on your brow habits and preferred style.
During a consultation, we’ll look at your natural brows, talk about your preferences, and choose the best option for you.
-
Yes, but it depends on the condition of your existing brow tattoo. If the previous pigment is significantly faded and not too saturated, we may be able to perform a cover-up using techniques like Powder or Combo Brows.
However, if the existing work is too dark, dense, or improperly shaped, removal or lightening treatments (such as laser or saline removal) might be necessary before proceeding.
We require clear, makeup-free photos of your current brows in natural lighting to assess the situation. Please email these photos prior to booking, so we can determine the best course of action for you. -
Your natural brow hair remains unaffected by the procedure. The pigment is deposited into the skin beneath the hair, enhancing the overall appearance without damaging existing hair follicles. In fact, the presence of natural hair can contribute to a more realistic and textured final result.
-
To ensure proper healing and pigment retention, avoid applying makeup on or around the brow area for at least 10 days post-procedure. This precaution helps prevent infection and irritation. Once the healing process is complete and any scabbing has subsided, you may resume your regular makeup routine. Always use clean brushes and applicators to maintain hygiene.

It is a lip tattoo that enhances and defines your lips. It can help enhance and even out natural color, or add color if you are lacking any pigment. Your lips will look darker and more like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural looking lip tint.
-
Results vary for everyone, but after the initial session and touch-up, lip blushing typically lasts 2–5 years. Longevity depends on factors like skin, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Some clients may need an additional session to reach their desired color or saturation, and maintenance sessions can be done when the color fades.
-
A numbing product is used before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. The final passes can feel slightly more sensitive, which is completely normal.
-
The first session takes about 3.5 hours. We review your goals, choose the best color, map the shape, and then begin the tattooing process.
-
It is crucial that you follow all pre-care and aftercare instructions. If pre-care isn't followed, we will not be able to work on your lips. If aftercare isn't followed, you will not have satisfactory healed results. Please look at the Pre/Post Care Section on our website.
-
Yes! You will be given an after care kit by your artist.
-
If you’re prone to cold sores, the lip blushing procedure can trigger one. To help prevent an outbreak, please contact your doctor or a walk-in clinic for an antiviral prescription such as Valtrex and follow their recommended timing.
-
Lip blushing can give the illusion of fuller lips. The permanent makeup treatment helps define your lip shape that often makes the lips appear bigger. However, unlike lip fillers, lip blushing doesn’t add any material volume to the area. Lip blushing is perfect for adding a subtle and naturally fuller look to your lips.
-
Lip blushing is a more extensive process if you have a darker complexion. A more melanin-rich pout has a darker blue or purple tint, which hinders pigment colour from showing up accurately on your natural lips. A micropigmentation technique called lip neutralization is used to balance out the skin’s undertones and lighten your lips. Unfortunately, TéTé does not offer lip neutralization at the moment.
-
Some minor, normal side effects include: Swelling, redness, dryness, minor bleeding, mild soreness or pain
-
You and your artist will discuss which colors suit you based on your skin tone but of course your personal preference comes into play too. You can always enhance or change the color of your lips at anytime with conventional makeup. Your new lip tattoo is designed to act as a base, so it doesn’t mean you should throw out your lippy collection at all. You should never use lipstick during the healing process, but once everything is fully healed up, you can use lipsticks, glosses and balms as usual.
-
Your lips will look slightly larger than normal and look as though you may have had a slight lip filler injection. The degree of this varies from person to person. For most clients, the swelling happens in a few hours. However, the lip color will look quite dark, like lipstick. You need to know that the size of your lips will shrink back to normal and the color will significantly fade up to 50% within the first 4 days. You will lose color on the inside of your lips first, the edges last. Right after the procedure lips normally feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. Lips will feel better with each day.

Once your color fades enough over time—typically between 2–5 years—you can schedule a maintenance appointment instead of paying for a full new set. While both treatments aim to enhance the eyes, they differ in technique and final appearance:
Lash Line Enhancement: This subtle procedure involves depositing pigment between the lashes, creating the illusion of fuller, darker lashes without a noticeable line. It’s ideal for those seeking a natural, “no-makeup” look.
Permanent Eyeliner: This technique places pigment above the lash line, resulting in a more defined and noticeable line, similar to traditional eyeliner makeup. It can be customized in thickness and style, including options like winged or shaded eyeliner, catering to those who prefer a more dramatic or makeup-like appearance.
At TéTé, only Lash Line Enhancement is offered at this time. This option is ideal if you want gentle definition at the base of the lashes without the look of eyeliner.
-
Discomfort levels can vary from person to person. To ensure your comfort, a topical anesthetic is applied before and during the procedure.
-
You may notice temporary redness, slight swelling, and light flaking during the first week. The color softens as it heals over the next few weeks, and a touch-up at 6–10 weeks completes the process.
For full details, please see the Pre/Post Care Section on our website.

To ensure proper healing, avoid applying eye makeup, including mascara and eyeliner, for at least 7 to 10 days post-procedure. Once the area has fully healed, you may resume your regular makeup routine.
-
Your natural eyelashes remain unaffected by the permanent eyeliner procedure. The pigment is carefully implanted along the lash line without disturbing the hair follicles. In fact, many clients find that the enhancement creates the illusion of fuller, darker lashes, making the eyes appear more defined even without mascara.
It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided to ensure optimal healing and to maintain the health of your natural lashes. Avoid applying mascara or using eyelash curlers for at least 7 to 10 days post-procedure, as this can interfere with the healing process. Once fully healed, you can resume your regular eyelash care routine.
